I just found a mother-lode of free, legal music on the internet. Literally gigabytes worth of music, no strings attached. Interested? Just make sure you've got an open mind for bands you've never heard before (and a couple you may have), and click the article to continue.

I stumbled on a little site known as the "Home of the (UNOFFICIAL) SXSW Torrents." Here, they've housed the torrent files for the largest collection of free music I've ever seen. All the showcasing artists from an event that takes place every March in Austin, TX known as South by South West - or SXSW - have contributed a song or two to the official SXSW site for download, and a few steps later, it winds up on this guy's site for easy access.

Now this is not a small event, if you've never heard of it. To give you a sense of scope, from the two torrents from SXSW 2010 alone, there are over 1000 songs to be collected. Add that to the other collections on the site from 2005-2009, and you're looking at around 4500-5000 songs. Again, they are for free, and all legal, because they are housed individually on the main SXSW site for consumption.

Are you really interested in it? If you are, I'm sure you're not reading this now. You're already downloading the torrent. Enjoy!
