YouTube Saturday: Modern Samurai

Isao Machii is a modern day samurai. In this clip, he proves that he is the world's best with a katana. It's 8 minutes long, the audio is in Japanese, but if you watch all the way through, you'll be amazed at just how good someone can be with this deadly accurate weapon. Look inside for the goods.

Play N Trade: GRAND DELAYING!!!!

By Silva

This month was quite uneventful for our local Gamestop competitor, Play N Trade. My cousin and I took a drive over to their locale only to find a bare floor with signs on the windows. On the signs read, "GRAND REOPENING, FEBRUARY 2010". Well, unless they can furnish the entire store in two days, I think there's a bit of false advertising.

How long is the delay going to be? That's up to the proprietor of GameLink to figure out. I, for one, hope that Columbus sees the return of the #1 Play N Trade in the country quickly.

This Week in Media

by Chase

Here's a look at what came out yesterday and the movies releasing Friday. I'm quite excited about a couple of these albums, mainly Shout Out Louds and Shearwater. It also begins a string of posthumous albums to come with the sixth installment of Rick Rubin's American album series with Johnny Cash. Enjoy!

Weekend Rundown!!!

Alrighty, the weekend has come and gone in a wisk of pretty boring, uninteresting excitement...

Youtube Saturday: Totally Off My Game Edition

Um, yeah, so, I know it's way past Saturday. After my on-call week at work, and a busy day on Saturday, I completely forgot about this. to make it up for you, I'm giving two for the price of one!

Review: Beautiful Katamari

By Silva

Ok, ok, I know this isn't the newest or hottest XBox 360 game out there right now, but let me have my few words about it, and maybe someone will be inspired to play a game from this eccentric yet charming series. Be warned, however, as this title is not for the typical "gamer".

Plants Vs. Zombies!!!!!

by Skoomie

Ok, so if you haven't guessed by the title. Plants vs. Zombies has arrived for the iPhone/iPod Touch. With a price set at $2.99. Is this game worth the money? Let's find out....

Weekend Rundown!!!

by Skoomie

Ok, Weekend Rundown is a little late.... considering the weekend was a few days ago, but here I am, and here we go. Let's get into it...

This Week in Media

Here's a quick look at what's scheduled to come out this week! Looks like a pretty slow week on all fronts:

For Valentine's Day: My Favorite Break-Up Songs

by Chase

In honor of Valentine's Day (and since I was broken up with the day after Valentine's Day my freshman year of college) I present my favorite break-up songs of all time, in no particular order (with video):

From the iPod: Thunder in the Valley part 1

By Silva

This is the first post in a series - hopefully - that I'll do about one of the area's most dynamic shows ever created, Thunder in the Valley. It is during this show where the skies of Columbus come alive with pilots of all types either showing off replica or restored airplanes throughout history, or just showing off.

This year the fun starts on March 20 at the Columbus Municipal Airport. I've always had an outside view of this event, so I'm excited that my wife and I will be able to enjoy it with purchased tickets this year. I've heard that there is much more to do on the inside.

I'll try to dig up press shots, flyers, and other info in the coming weeks.

YouTube Saturday: Thursday Edition: Bohemian Rhapsody

I'm sending this one out early, since I'll be in North Carolina on Saturday. Have fun watching the Muppets sing a cover of Queen's quintessential song, Bohemian Rhapsody!

From the iPod: Biltmore Bash 2010

By Silva

I'm out all this weekend in Asheville, NC to hit the estate of Mr. Vanderbilt, or as no one calls him, O. G. Vandy B. Be sure to look out for an early YouTube Saturday clip, and expect a few articles from Chase and Skoomie. So until Tuesday, OUT!

The Tryout: Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce

By Silva

I got a chance to try out a demo from the fine folks at Koei/Tecmo and Omega Force today. Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce for the XBox 360 - a port from the PSP game of the same name - stems from a long line of button mashing, beat-em-up style games that frankly, I haven't played seriously in a long while. I was a huge fan of the Dynasty Warriors series ever since I bought it just before the Playstation 2 launch. Will this be a continuing of my obsession with "KO"ing thousands of virtual ancient Chinese soldiers? Click through to find out.

(Belated) Top 25 Albums of 2009

by Chase

Being my first post here, and being that I'm a huge music fan of different genres, I thought I'd post my top 25 albums of the past year.

And yes, I have listened to all of these albums in their entirety multiple times. My poor 30GB iPod clearly needs to be replaced with a 120GB or 160GB.

Play-N-Trade: GRAND re-OPENING!!!!!

by Skoomie

.... or so the sign reads.

Weekend Rundown!!!... and things to come...

by Skoomie

Howdy you's guys!! The weekend around here turned out to be pretty good. Stuff happened, things went down, and other things went awry! All in all a good weekend....... check out more below.....

From the iPod: Super Bowl XLIV

By: Silva

Woo! That really turned out to be a great game. Congratulations to the Saints, your team - and your city - really deserved it.

The Colts really can't be ignored either, however. The coaching staff did a great job getting the team this far again and I just hope they - along with all the other teams - work just as hard next season to do what they do best: providing the masses with enough entertainment to keep our minds off of the daily grind for a few hours each weekend.

Also, I think Undercover Boss is going to be a great series.

YouTube Saturday: GNILLEY

This week, the clip will be featured in the Games section. It's showing off the game GNILLEY, as presented by the developers at the Game Jam in Sydney. GNILLEY is a game that is controlled a bit, well, differently.

Post Review - Mass Effect 2

by Skoomie

Mass Effect 2 being a much anticipated release following it's popular forerunner BioWare's Mass Effect. The reviews out on the game build it up to hold this game much higher than the first. Possibly holding it at a higher standard than original. Is there truth in this. Does all this hype actually build this game up properly; or are we just going to be disappointed with another failed 3rd person RPG? Personally, all the hype is worth it....
